You will hike on the tracks of the witches through the Harz with all its beauty of nature. Starting from Thale in the cliffy Bodetal the tour leads over Treseburg to Hasselfelde. From there it goes on passing the Rappbode Dam and Königshütte to Drei Annen Hohne. Across the street from the station of the narrow-gauge railway “Harzer Schmalspurbahn” you will find the comfortable hotel “Der Kräuterhof” where you will spend your first night. Fresh and well rested, the next morning you will hike onto the top of the Brocken (1142 m), passing the Hohneklippen and the Glashüttenweg. From there the Goetheweg leads you down to the Torfhaus where you will find your next accommodation. The “Hüttengasthof”, a quaint inn, offers rustic shared rooms, partly bunk beds, shower/WC on the corridor) and a Harz typical dinner served by the landlady herself.
The next day the tour leads over the Geheimratplatz and Förster Ludwig Platz to the Fieke Märtens Well and Sperberhaier Dammhaus, over the Polsterberg to the Bärenbrucher Teich. From here it is about ½ mile to Buntenbock, but the apartments and rooms of the “Tannenhof” are not located directly in the village but approximately 200 yards outside at the B 241.
The last leg leads you from Buntenbock to Osterode. Through the Lerbachtal and the Butterberg-Tunnel you will finally reach the town Osterode, where we have booked the last accommodation for you in the Hotel “Zum Röddenberg”.
Of course, your return journey is organised as well. The taxi company Pruschek from Thale will bring you and your luggage back to Thale, from where you can start your homeward journey, or if you wish, book an additional overnight stay.

Hike from Torfhaus, passing Altenau, to Buntenbock; approx. 14.4 miles
Day 5: Overnight stay in Buntenbock, Hotel Tannenhof (with breakfast only)
Hike from Buntenbock to Osterode; ca. 7.5 miles
Day 6: Overnight stay in Osterode, Hotel Zum Röddenberg
