The Witches Circle

On April 21st 1996 several sculptures by Jochen Müller (a Quedlinburg artist) were put on display at the Hexentanzplatz.

Two large stone sculptures show the devil with his friends, who appear to be partially pig, dragon and rodent. A wicked witch also belongs to this trio, which is on an assignment with the devil. This is shown in a circle of large stones, known as "The Circle of Evil". Visitors may enter this stone circle and exit through several openings. The stones are known as "Findling" stones (i.e. boulders remaining from the ice age).
