History
The Walpurgis Hall is an old Germanic styled blockhouse that was constructed by the Berlinian architect Bernhard Sehring in 1901. The painter Hermann Hendrich, who came up with the idea for the hall, did the paintings you will find inside the hall.

Myth
The gable is crowned with the head of the one-eyed father god Wotan, flanked by the ravens Hudin and Munin symbolising Wotan’s thoughts and memory, and the wolfs Gari and Freki as his guards and intermediaries. In order to become omniscient Wotan drank from The Well of Wisdom. The well was guarded by the giant “Yimir”, and Wotan had to sacrifice an eye for the drink of omniscience.
