In the Bergtheater
nature directs.
Sun, wind and rain
shaped one of the
oldest and most
beautiful natural
stages in Germany. In our
theatre the thunder comes
directly from the skies. Sun
and moon illuminate the second
act in turns. No matter if play
or opera, tragedy or comedy,
musical or fairy-tale - at
the end of the
performance you
will be enthused!

Convent without pious women
More than thousand years ago avid Christians founded the convent Wendhusen to proselytise the natives of the area. Pious women you won’t find here anymore; rather evidences of the oldest convent in East Germany; and a unique composition of Romanic and baroque elements harmonising marvellously.

In the smeltery museum you can set your hand to the exhibits
Touch and move, finger and turn – in our smeltery museum you can learn and feel with both hands how ore was made to iron, iron processed to steel, and steel treated to a final product.
Rating: Particularly family and child-friendly.
